The day has finally come…my bathroom reveal. I have finally finished and it took me 6 long weeks, but it is completely done and I can’t wait to share pictures. First, let me tell you a little bit about my teeny, tiny bath. It is very small at 6 1/2 feet wide by 7 1/2 feet long (a jacuzzi tub, that was already here, takes up a lot of the square footage too). It has slate on the floor, the shower, and half of the wall where the vanity is (the other half of that wall is mirror). Oh, and it’s the only bathroom in our house…did I mention it’s small?
I didn’t spend a lot of money doing this space, nothing major was changed like tiles, vanity, etc. I would like to replace the vanity and remove the wall of slate behind the toilet, but that is a project for down the road. For this redo, I used paint, some molding and a little bit of elbow grease (oh, and 4 tubes of caulk…lots of caulk). I’ll do another post on some of the details and some little space-saving ideas I used.
Now here’s the good stuff…pictures! Remember that this is a very small space and it is very difficult to get good pictures.
The bathroom before, dirty mirror and all.
Although we get lots of light through the window, the molding and paint made it dark and gloomy in there.
Here are the after pictures…
The shelves are the only wood that I did not paint in this room. I liked the contrast with the white woodwork and the gray walls. The walls and ceiling are painted with Benjamin Moore Gray Owl and the woodwork and vanity is painted with Benjamin Moore White Dove. Can I just say how much I am loving White Dove? Such a soft white paint color, lovely with Gray Owl.
And here is one last before and after shot, side by side.
I’ll explain some of the details of this makeover in another post, along with what I spent. If you want to see my vanity transformation, you can check it out here.
Now I’m onto the next room, the living/dining room, and I have lots of great things planned for this space.
