Friday Favorites

I hope you are keeping warm on this frigid Friday. We woke up to -9 and -6 yesterday and today (and that’s without the wind chill)…ugh, I am so ready for Spring. It’s supposed to get a bit warmer here, 30 on Saturday, but we will be inside working on the kitchen. It’s been slow going since before we went on vacation but I’m hoping the Mr. will be motivated enough to get the 2nd soffit removed. If you follow me on Instagram, you can see what how we progress. Let’s get to this week’s Friday Favorites.

Color is great but sometimes a room calls for a soothing color palette like this pretty living room corner.

Friday Favorites | chatfieldcourt.comHow about some colorful pillows and a mirror ball to liven up the neutral pieces in this living room.

Friday Favorites | chatfieldcourt.comI have always been a huge fan of green and turquoise and I love the way they’re used to really brighten up this colorful kitchen.

I do enjoy reading how people in other countries live in their homes. This short article from Apartment Therapy talks about British design style. So interesting.

I have been dreaming of a new front door. One that will let some light into our very dark living room. Love everything about this one.

Friday Favorites | chatfieldcourt.comHere is a cute and easy DIY, an enamel mug organizer. Great idea and it could be used in almost any room.

I must be looking for more color in my life because I picked two very colorful Favorites. What are your thoughts on using multiple bold colors in a room? Are you a fan of this look?

As always, I so appreciate you spending a bit of time with me. 🙂 I hope you have a great weekend. Stay warm!

Multiple bold colors all at once is one of those things that has to be done well – but it can indeed be done well!! But like the kitchen with the green and turquoise. They’re both bright and in your face, and they may not “match”, but they go well enough together without clashing.
Then again, I believe orange matches everything, so don’t listen to me xD

You are right about doing bold colors well. I think it is so easy to go to the wrong side and having a look that just doesn’t work.

You mean that orange doesn’t match everything? :p

Thanks so much for stopping in and I hope you have a great weekend.

Love the front door, but it’s the blue that caught my eye! We are very lucky to have bright sunshine (when we have it) in most of the rooms in our house.

Like you, really tired of this cold! And the snow! And the cold! Did I mention I’m tired of the cold! We will only be in the 20s this weekend, but I’ll take anything that is above -9! Can’t remember when it’s been this cold in Western NY for such a long period of time.

I’m thinking new pillow covers in blue with pops of bright yellow for my living room! Yes, that will make me feel warmer!

    Stay warm, my friend!

I have to say that I’m partial to the blue to MJ. At this point though, I would take any color door as long as it let some light in. 😉 Blue and yellow pillow covers sound nice and “Springy”. It’s always a great combo.
Hope you stay warm. We are in this cold spell for at least another week, I guess teens are better than -9 but cold is cold at this point.

      Have a great weekend.

It’s funny you should comment about bold colors because the idea of adding them to my home has been on my mind lately. After years of “country” grey/blue and red I am slowly transitioning away from those colors. I think I like a white, neutral house with pops of bright colors. We’ll see!

My style is changing too Barbara. I’m also leaning towards white with pops of color. Not a direction I thought I would go but that’s what appeals to me right now.

So glad you stopped in today. Happy weekend!
