Holiday Home Tour – Christmas Dining Room

Come take a tour of our Christmas tree in our Christmas dining room.

Hey friends! Today is a special day at Chatfield Court because I’m hosting a small home tour, All Through the House Holiday Home Tour, with four of my blogging friends.

Everyone is so busy this time of year so we decided to keep things simple and have a one day tour.

For today only, each of us will be sharing a special room in our home all dressed for the holidays in the hopes of inspiring you as you decorate your own home.

If you’re visiting from Exquisitely Unremarkable, welcome!

Love Kim’s pretty cottage family room but it’s especially beautiful during the holidays.

The space I’m sharing today is our Christmas dining room.

Last year was the first time we spent the holidays in our cottage and it didn’t take long to realize our tree would have to be set up in the dining room.

In the other homes we’ve lived in I always had our tree in the living room, so having it in here took some getting used to. We love it though.

Our kitchen and dining area is our favorite space in our house so it seems like the tree is exactly where it should be

We’ve made quite a few changes to this space since the last time we decorated for Christmas.

I’ve painted the walls, replaced our big oak table with an awesome antique teak table (a $50 find) and painted the windows black.

I also made a change with our holiday decor this year. I usually go with traditional red but decided to go in a different direction.

Instead I went for a rustic glam look with gold, silver, black and some rustic wood touches.

It was a big change (for me) but I like the way it turned out. I even tucked in an extra piece of live cedar garland to add a little life to my faux tree.

I’ve always used traditional colors, red and green, so it took me longer than I’d hoped to put this together. I fiddled with the tree for quite a while until I was satisfied with the way it looked.

The tree skirt I would normally use is red, so I picked up a piece of faux fur from Joann Fabrics and laid it under the tree. It adds to the glam look. Love it!

A bit of live greenery here and it really made a huge difference in turning this space into a festive Christmas dining room.

I’m so glad I went for a different look this year. I love how it turned out and we’re really enjoying our space.

Happy Holidays!!!

I still have our kitchen, living room, bedroom, sunroom and front porch to share. I’ve been hard at work getting them ready for the holidays and I can’t wait to share.
