Fall Home Tour 2015

Hi and thanks for stopping in today for my fall home tour. If you are visiting from Darrielle’s beautiful blog, D.D.’s Cottage and Design, welcome, I’m so glad you’re here! Brenda from Cozy Little House put together this tour of 28 fabulous homes decorated for fall, and I’m thrilled to be a part of it.
When Brenda invited me to participate in the tour, I was a bit hesitant at first because of the kitchen reno we’re in the middle of, but I knew that it would give me a chance to make a room in my house look pretty again, if only for a moment. So I accepted her kind invitation, moved all the tools and other construction junk into different corners of the house, and pulled my fall decor out. I’m happy to tell you that I was able to make my living room and foyer look like fall for a few days (at the expense of my other rooms), and it was nice to have a pretty room again.
One of my favorite things is my front door basket. You can see how easy this was to make here.
I find that I’m always changing things around in the entryway. We have a lot going on in this small space and it can be a challenge for me to decorate.
For my fall decor this year, I went with what I love…simple, with lots of natural elements.
I’ve been able to squeeze in a few fall crafts, between working on the kitchen, and I’ll be posting them soon. One of the crafts that I did was to add some leaves on the old window that I propped up on the cabinet. I bought this old, chippy window months ago to hang in the kitchen, but I’ve since found something else. I brought it in from the garage and it just sat, propped up against the wall, so I stuck it up here for now until I can figure out what to do with it.
I won the velvet pumpkins a couple of years ago from a favorite blog, and I love getting them out every year. Check out that awesome stem!
I picked up a few mums and an ornamental pepper plant for the front stoop but I’ve not done anything else to the porch. Summer temps have returned this week and I hope that they make it through. We have a long way to go until Halloween.
It was fun decorating my living room for the tour and it was nice to have a room all clean and spiffy, but, I have to admit, I’m still not ready to let go of summer.
Thanks so much for visiting and touring my fall home room, I’m so glad that you stopped in. Next year all of our construction mess will be cleaned up and long forgotten (hopefully) and I’ll be able to share my new kitchen decorated for fall. Speaking of the kitchen, I’m hoping to have an update Friday on our new countertops. They’re in and I’m so excited to show them to you!
The next stop on the tour is Linda from Itsy Bits and Pieces, and you don’t want to miss her beautiful vintage style.
Check out all of the other fall homes on the tour. Here’s the full lineup for the rest of the week.
So pretty. I love your style and the color of your front door! Just bought a house and need that color for my front door!
We would love for you to share your post over at Your Inspired Design link party and get featured on 6 blogs! https://gloria-fox.squarespace.com/potentiallychicblog/2015/9/30/your-inspired-design-5
Hope to see you there!
Thanks and I appreciate the invite. I’ll be sure to check out your link party. 🙂
Everything looks so pretty. I absolutely love fall and look forward every year to seeing its glorious colors. You have done a wonderful job with your home decor. Lucky you to win those great pumpkins.
Thanks so much Becky! I’ve always loved fall too, although I wish summer would have stuck around a little longer. 😉 I’m not usually lucky, so I was really surprised and happy when I won the pumpkins. They are one of my favorite fall decorations.
So very pretty dear, I love your pillows too!!!!!! I have to get started on mine, but at this rate, I may just have to do Halloween 🙂
Thanks so much Vel! If I didn’t have a scheduled tour, I probably wouldn’t have decorated at all, I guess a kitchen reno will do that to you. 😉
Your home looks beautiful! I felt right at home and wanted to take my shoes off! Thanks. I’ve finished the other tours too, what a lot of talented ladies! Since I live in Florida and it is still in the high 80’s, I can’t quite put my head around fall yet.
Brenda
Thanks so much for the sweet comment Brenda, I’m glad you felt at home. You’re so right, I am blown away by all the beautiful tours.
I’ve lived in Florida too so I know what you mean about the weather and it not feeling like fall. There were years that I never decorated for fall at all. Hope it cools down just a bit for you. Thanks for stopping in today.
Very, very classy, Kristi. I love this so much. You’ve balanced everything beautifully: nature’s bounty mixed in with warm textiles, the velvet pumpkins and soft pillows bring softness to the room. I have to tell you that I brought up your guest post from last Saturday and compared it to this post so I could clearly observe the seasonal transition in the entryway. I adore that hat! xo ~ Nancy
Awww, thanks Nancy. Your lovely comment made my day. I’m sure you know that when you have a small house, you have to try to balance your decor so it isn’t over the top (unless over the top is your goal, of course). I hope that I was able to achieve that. I’m so glad that you enjoyed my room tour. Hopefully I’ll be able to decorate my dining area and kitchen next year. 😉 Oh, and the hat is my husband’s yardwork hat. We call it his Indiana Jones hat. LOL
Thanks so much for dropping by.
You have a beautiful home, Kristi! Thanks for sharing it!!
Thanks so much Jennifer, and I appreciate your visit! Looking forward to your fall tour part 2.
I’m impressed that you agreed to do the tour with all that you have going on. And you did a beautiful job too, Kristi 🙂
Love those velvet pumpkins, but I haven’t broken down and bought one yet.
xo,
rue
Thanks Rue, how sweet of you to say. I’m just glad that I shared on the first day. I may have chickened out after viewing all the other beautiful homes. 😉
I love my velvet pumpkins and look forward to pulling them out every year (although I’m always nervous that I’ll unpack them and the stems will be broken). 🙂
So pretty!
Thanks Susan! 🙂
I’m loving your home! The pops of orange make it feel so warm and cozy. And I love the pop of orange on the blue front door. beautiful!
Thanks so much Kyla, I appreciate you taking the tour. I really enjoyed your home tour today, and love that you are true to your own style.
Loved the tour Kristi…your Fall touches look so pretty!
Thanks so much Martina, and I look forward to touring your fall home on Friday.
Your fall home tour is just lovely! And I love that basket on the front door — I may need to make one for myself this year! So happy to be sharing our homes together this season! 🙂 Linda
Thanks so much Linda and I appreciate your visit. I’ve had a blast doing this tour with you (love your navy and brown fall living room) and all of the other talented bloggers. 🙂
I felt the same way when Brenda asked me! Glad I’m not alone. Your fall touches are beautiful, and those velvet pumpkins are so luscious! One of these days I’m gonna get me some 🙂
Thanks so much Doreen. I wasn’t sure that I would have enough to share, since most of my house is in shambles, but I’m glad that I went ahead and did it. I’m really looking forward to your tour on Friday. 🙂 Oh, and you won’t regret it if you get some velvet pumpkins, I love mine.
So beautiful and cozy! Makes me want to visit in real life! 🙂 ~julie

Great use of fall color and looks so cozy!
Thanks Janet, and I appreciate you stopping in.
Everything looks so beautiful Kristi! I love the pumpkins and those acorns. I saw some similar ones at Hobby Lobby and almost picked them up! I thought they were adorable!
Thanks so much Benita! I got those acorns from HL last year and added a touch of gold to a few to give them a boost. I agree with you, they are totally adorable. 🙂
Thank you so much for the colour reference. Off to paint my front door in your marvellous choice.
Yay, sounds great! I’m sure it will look awesome. I’d love to see it after it’s painted.
As soon as I walked in your home I was smitten! Love the use of acorns throughout your vignettes, so much welcoming Fall details!
Jemma
Thanks so much Jemma, what a lovely comment. I’m so glad that you felt welcomed and that you enjoyed the tour.
You had me with that wonderful front door! Would you mind if I ask what color paint you used?
Hi Kari, thanks for stopping in. The paint color is BM Blue Lake, and I’m still loving it after 2 years. 🙂
Hello, I am visiting from the tour! Your home is lovely and so inviting! Blessings, Cecilia
Thanks Cecilia, and I’m so glad you dropped in for a visit.
Everything looks so pretty!!
Kathy
Thanks so much Kathy!
You couch! With the orange and black&white stripped pillows! Oh it’s perfect! 😀 I love all of the little touches you have done as well – the little acorns and leaves and such. There’s a lot going on, but not in a busy way, but in the there’s-always-something-new-to-see way, and it’s awesome 😀
Awww, thanks Jessica! You always leave me the nicest comments, and I always appreciate it when you come by for a visit. 🙂
It all looks lovely ! 🙂
Thanks Deb! I appreciate you stopping in. 🙂
Your home is so lovely…you had me at that beautiful front door…
Your place looks great Kristi and I can’t believe you won those velvet pumpkins!! You are one lucky lady!!
Thanks Kim! Aren’t those pumpkins sweet? I was so surprised when I won them.
